The weather provided ample opportunity to catch up on some reading, movie watching, and completing the starter repair and doing a routine oil change/fuel filter change/raw water strainer cleaning. After all that it was grab several bottles of Dawn and a bottle of Pine Sol and clean bilge!
Next order of business is to fetch my canvas work back from Cedric's place in New Bern and install that.
After the rain quit and the Moon broke out, Frady and I went for a walk on the dock.
I have never seen that Cat so happy!
When I stepped onto the dock and suggested we go walkies....he started chattering and took off from the boat and galloped off down the dock with his kitty hooves clattering away. When he stopped....it was claw the dock time using all fours in pairs...first the front then the hind end....chattering all the while!
We did the usual round....down to the bridge and back. Naturally, Frady had to hit every finger dock and climb aboard his favorite boats to sniff around. On the way back he insisted on going cross country and not back track up the dock. The reason for that was he wanted to do a bit of tree climbing.
He bolted up the first tree and found it to be a bit cluttered up with limbs and vines....so he jumped down and took off to the second one. Up he went....checking out each limb and rubbing his chin over everything. A few finger scratches on a limb and he was attacking my hand. He loves that game! This being a smaller tree with skinny limbs ol' Frady had a series of what gymnasts would call "faults"....but managed to reclaim his position without completely falling out of the tree. Granted he did "Hang Ten" in a mountain climber way a couple of times.
After leaving the tree.....he was off like a shot to the boat where he did an over the lifeline arrival into the cockpit leaving skid marks as he tried to stop on the fiberglass deck. He was all head butts, leg jobs, and scratch my butt for the rest of the evening.
That was a good run ashore.
Frady enjoyed himself and I enjoyed watching him do so. I just love to hear him clopping down the boards at a high gallop with his tail up and right!
